Your reaction to his measurement video brought me here. The one where they arrive at a silly 71 inches(180.3 cm). There's no way a "legit" measurement of a guy of such astronomical ego would be 2-3 inches above his actual height. 5'8 is surely ok.

Usman is definitely not 6'0", he's another Yoel Romero in this regard ( 5'10" guy listed as 6'0" ). He fights at the smaller weight class compared to Romero's and looks much leaner, plus his proportions ( short torso, long legs and arms ) benefit him to look taller, so he gets away with his 6'0" listing quite easily and looks huge on screen to many people. But wait until you see him next to Chimaev, he will make Usman look small.

I really doubt Gaethje is under 178cm, he's one of the few UFC guys that is actually looking fairly close to his listed height. I've been guessing him at 5'10.25 to 5'10.75", anywhere in that range. It's quite surprising to see him edging out Usman, I knew they were close in height, but I thought it was the other way around.

Yeah I previously thought Usman was a full 5'11 but maybe he's just under it if Gaethje's a strong 5'10

Still think he's a solid 5'8.5" in the afternoon, his posture is unclear in those Mourinho pictures and his massive head gives off the impression that he's shorter than he is sometimes.

Also, there's a clear 2" difference minimum between him and Floyd, so I don't really understand how Floyd is any taller than 5'6.5" in the afternoon.

Good find. Lewis Hamiton was measured at 5'7.5, so you can take that to the bank. Now, in terms of the height differential, Lewis looks a minimum 1-inch taller than McGregor there. Obviously, Lewis has the footwear advantage.

He seems to be wearing them typical £500 designer shoes with the thickest heels you typically see on the net. The heels look like ~1.5-inches, Connor's seem like ~0.8-inches. Even taking the footwear into consideration, 5'7.5 Lewis is likely to edge Connor in height.

This is why I don't see Connor over 5'8 flat and comparing him to Lewis Hamilton at least, I am being generous here. He seems about ~0.5-inches shorter than Khabib too, I have Khabib at 5'8.5.

The guy has his reach overlisted and was previously listed on his tale of the tape at 5'8" before popularity. Just trying to bring attention to the fact that some people in sports are regularly overlisted. This is a site about height, guy, just trying to get to the bottom of what he actually is. All you people thinking conor AND dustin are both actually a legit 5'9" know nothing about sports height inflation. MMA took what WWE have been doing for years and regularly exaggerate height. Just look at the new pic dustin posted with Joe rogan on his IG. He has maaaybe a 1/2 inch on joe at the most. Joe is listed here as 5'7" with many thinking he is slightly shorter. They shouldn't be that close even if Joe is wearing his fancy octagon interview lifts, which it doesn't seem like he is. Fighter Shane Carwin has been listed everywhere from 6'1 to 6'5" just to prove the crazy exaggeration that takes place lol! Either dustin and conor are nearer the 5'8" flat range or joe is sneaking up on average male height haha. I'd bet on the former. I don't think there should be any debate. McGregor is clearly the taller man as he edges out Dustin consistently whilst both are barefoot, and is nearly identical to him in height whilst Dustin is wearing sneakers and he himself is barefoot. Look at the video randomdude2021 shared, or them standing opposite each other for their first fight.

This is relevant because we never saw McGregor and Khabib next to each other while barefoot, so we couldn't get a grip on Khabib's height either. Khabib is marginally taller than Dustin, which means Conor is around Khabib's height.

I don't know why there is so much debate about Dustin and Mcgregor, it's splitting hairs when it comes to debating who's taller - if I were to choose I would say Dustin, but even so it's probably by half a cm and so for all intensive purposes they are the same height. As for UFC listings I tend to believe that every fighter is an inch shorter than their listing (their shoe heights essentially) other than people like Cerrone and Romero who are both two inches shorter than their listings. I think the listing for McGregor is spot on.

Poirier's sneakers gave him 1.2" at a minimum and he arguably didn't even edge McGregor out face-to-face. Give Poirier a 1/4" and he's still nearly an 1" shorter than McGregor.

The line you drew was from the top of Poirier's hair to the top of McGregor's head. McGregor with hair would appear to be taller but it's clear that McGregor with a higher eye-level and overall bigger head was taller in that picture.

McGregor slightly edges Poirier in my opinion, the staredown at the weigh ins Poirier had sneakers on whereas McGregor was barefoot and Poirier only edged him. There is a picture floating around the internet back from the mid 2010's where both men are face to face barefoot and Conor edges him. It should be in the archives somewhere on this page. Conor has about 1/4 inch on Poirier. They are almost identical in height.

Both Poirier and Conor are a bit shorter than Khabib that is a legit 5'9 (175.5cms) probably, around 1.5cms shorter.

@MD exactly. Comparing someone's height to someone else's listed height is silly considering the fact that the other person might not be what they're listed either. Conor was listed as 5'8" before popularity...and his reach is exaggerated, why wouldn't his height be as well? I'm going with 5'8.25. His tiny waist makes his shoulders seem broader than they are and he does have impeccable posture usually which could add to the illusion of a greater stature. I would actually say he is Rob's exact height twin.

Connor looked taller than 5'9 Dustin Porier in their barefoot face off in the ring before the fight as he had a higher eye level. Prior to the fight Connor looked as tall as Porier while Connor was barefoot and Porier had shoes during the face off and they looked the same height. McGregor is one of those guys who consistently looks a good 5'9" in direct comparison to other people, yet regularly gets downgraded for some reason. I think it's a combination of people not liking him, the fact that he seems to always Bust a Gut and try to look tall, and his huge head and muscular build giving him a short look. Nevertheless it's quite clear from numerous good comparisons with other people that he's not over listed.

Conor is a very height conscious guy, he always stands his absolute tallest in face offs and always has good posture. Dustin was more relaxed in the face off. Conor is about 0.5-1cm taller

McGregor and Poirier looked the same height in the last faceoffs but Poirier had thick sneakers in both faceoffs while Conor was standing barefoot in one, and with an almost flat shoe in other.

Conor is half an inch to one full inch taller than Poirier. Very rarely we have barefoot faceoffs and we have barefoot faceoff of them which someone posted a couple of posts before.

This time, at the weigh-in faceoffs of McGregor - Porier II there is another example of him being taller than 5'8.5" by a significant bit.

He seems to be 0.125" shorter than Dustin Poirier whilst Poirier is wearing shoes, and McGregor is standing barefoot.

He's 5'9" at minimum. Even if Poirier was only 5'8" Conor would still be 5'9". Poirier looked 1" to 1.25" shorter than Gaethje at most who is listed at 5'11"and is likely 5'10" range. It's the same with Poirier and Holloway who is listed at 5'11" aswell. Khabib edged Poirier by a hair, not even a quarter of an inch.

In conclusion, Poirier is at minimum 5'8" range (he's likely the height that Rob has McGregor at), and we've seen that Conor has him by atleast 0.75" if not more.

Like someone mentioned below, he has Dustin beat by atleast half an inch when barefoot. This isn't the only occasion where McGregor has seemed taller than 5'9".

In conclusion he needs an upgrade to 5'9".

I found Conor and Poirier's barefoot faceoff from recently released UFC countdown video. Conor is at least half an inch taller than Dustin who people swear is legit 5'9".

Then Conor should be at least 5'9.5". Mcgregor need a height upgrade. They downgraded Floyd and other people's heights here in this site after them getting near McGregor but it should have been the opposite. McGregor's height should have been upgraded instead of downgrading other people's heights.

We all know his accomplishments in MMA. Sometimes it could be just exaggerated. He's not at all a well-rounded fighter like some others are. His ground game is virtually non-existent. He's got more of a Muhammad Ali type of a character. That would explain his rise to popularity. A professional showboat. Also he has the gift of the gab for trash talking or whatever comes out of his mouth. He has that allure. I'm not malcontent if that's what you think. Dustin and Conor had barefoot faceoffs for media before their fight back in 2014 and those photos were also posted here. Conor had quarter/half an inch over Dustin. If anything Conor should be the one thats 5'9 while Dusting being 5'8, not the other way around. If Dustin is 5'9 then Conor is 5'9.5.

Hey Rob, Conor MIGHT be 5'8.5 but probably during the night only. How tall do you think Jose aldo is? Jose is listed at 5'7 but he looks a heck of a lot smaller overall than Conor. Is a 1.5 inch difference in height really this drastic to the point that it makes someone look significantly shorter than the other? Is a 4cm difference really this big in perceived size? Jose is clearly taller than his 5'6 listed opponents and also doesn't have the short guy appearance that 5'6 guys have. But he also looks way smaller than Conor in every meeting which makes me doubt he can actually be only 1.5 inches shorter.

Hey Rob I see you responded to someone posting the video of Conor being measured. In the video it sounds like the measurement is 71inches, but I think using reasonable sense the measurement is in fact 171cm which places him closer to his listed height of 5'9, then when you factor in the known practice of the UFC to inflate fighter heights by an inch or two I think it's fair to believe Conor is a hair under 5'8.

It's an imperial tape measure, there is no metric on it.

However, the guy I believe would have put his toes on the tape and didn't measure him properly.

The other option is he's really 71 inches...which is 2 inches more than McGregor claims himself.

Almost every UFC fighters height is inflated by 1-2 inches, the UFC took a page out of WWE's playbook in order to make their athletes seem larger than they are... There's a video of Conor being measured barefoot before his first UFC fight and they measure him at just a touch under 5'8. In reality he's 5'7 3/4.

Let us be clear about something - 5 foot 8 and a half IS 5 foot 9. Who in the world is so pendantic that they will discount themselves 1.27 cm? Its not even a one percent margin of error. Height is also not static at all. Spinal compression is a reality that affects standing heights. People need to factor in tolerances with heights, and I would say this guy lies anywhere from 173 - 176 cm tall.

Thanks for speaking out. Yeah Barboza could very well be 177 or the full 5'10. He did look 1 inch shorter than Ferguson but it might just be his posture. Barboza is a strange one too because he looks tall but with 5'9 range guys (Khabib, Pettis) he is barely taller, also looks quite a bit shorter than Cowboy and Hooker. 177-178 is a good guess.

Don't know about you guys but i saw a legit 3.5inch minimum difference between Conor and Donald at the Octagon final face off. BT sport just uploaded the whole fight on their YouTube MMA channel, you can have a look there.

Conor cant be any taller than 5ft 8 flat. Considering Donald is 5'11.5 minimum this makes perfect sense.

Conor's been called 5'8 by many people and MMA organisations in the past. Soon as anyone gets to the UFC they magically get taller. I also noticed a whole bunch of discrepancies between fighters and the tale of the tape on that card.

@EH usually the smaller guy wins in mma. Dana will keep Conor away from Khabib and Diaz since Conor struggles against ground fighters with good cardio. Masvidal is his biggest draw at 170 and he matches up well stylistically with him the best. As for size I agree. Masvidal is probably about an inch or two taller and 10-15 lbs heavier out of camp then Conor.

I've heard people say Masdival is "too big" for McGregor, but Masdival might be a little shorter than Cowboy. They are all shorter than Diaz who McGregor has beat. I can't see why McGregor vs Masdival wouldn't be pretty fair from a size perspective. Yeah, McGregor is probably naturally 10-15 pounds lighter but that doesn't seem to be a problem for him. That's the fight I'd like to see if he beats Cowboy.

I can't pin down a specific guess but I'm comfy thinking he's in the 5'8.25-5'9 range.

A perfect height. And perfect height for his weight class.

He seems like a pretty confident guy that will gladly walk around other celebs barefoot and have his picture taken with them. He will also fight dudes that are heavier and/or 3-4 inches taller.

What can you say — he's all man and he's 5'8.5" tall. You can't measure his heart/spirit. Same goes for Manny Pacquiao or however it's spelled.

Imo Mcgregor is a 5ft8-5ft8.5 guy, he has a massive head that helps him appear taller. For instance If we take Mcgregor and compared him next to a 5ft8 guy, Conor will appear taller because of his massive head but the shoulders level will be the same for the two.

I can't see a 16cm difference AND especially when Ronaldo is wearing thick sole trainers and Conor is barefoot....

mate i believe Till is 180 cm barefoot night height, the official 183 cm is wearing shoes which is typical in western height measurement convention. Wonderboy I think is 178 cm barefoot night height, compared to Chris Wiedman who is a solid 183 cm (compare to 182 cm Anderson Silva who is 182 standing next to Kobe 195 cm) Robbie I believe is 174 cm. Again it is such a convention that guys in the spotlight to uplift 3-7 cm from their true barefoot night height.

@Randomdude30 Till is a difficult one to judge. Hes so thick it makes him appear larger. He had huge weight cuts at welterweight which can shrink you down almost an entire inch. I think Till is at most 6'1" flat and at his worst 6'0 flat. He looked an inch to an inch a half taller than cowboy who is more 5'11" and a half than the strong 6'0" to weak 6'1" he claims to be.

My opinion is that he likely is closer to 5'7. In photos with people he never looks average, almost always shorter than the majority of males there. The way other fighters call him a midget etc, sounds more like a 5'7 guy than someone who's almost average.

@ Rob what would be your guess for Colby Covington? I remember he was listed at 5'8" at one point, then each fight after that his height got listed higher. Now hes listed all the way up to 5'11". Judging by a face off he did with RDA he looked 2 inches taller. Conor looked about a quarter to a half inch taller than RDA. My guess for Colby would be hes max 5'10" 1/4 with a minimum of 5'9" 3/4ths.

Covington managed to look pretty close to Usman during their face offs I thought. Rob said that Usman has a chance of being 5'11" flat, that would make Colby almost 5'11" as well, but to me he looks like he's almost 5'10" instead, Masvidal edged him out as well I think. Usman is most likely below 5'11", I think it goes like this:

Colby - 5'9 1/2 or 3/4"
Masvidal - 5'10 or 1/4"

Conor is about an inch and a half shy of average. When he was fighting at 145 he looked bigger. At 155 he looks normal and at 170 looked smaller. @ Rob would be interesting to see you and Conor next to each other! I think he might edge you out by about a quarter inch, but it would be close.

No way, just no way. The guy is 5'9/5'10, you can tell many different ways (proportions, his ufc listing, etc). People will argue here that everyone overstates their height but after about a year at looking at this website's listing my conclusion is that just about everyone is loosing an inch (even the people that have been MEASURED). So comparing someone who's artificially listed shorter with someone else with the same treatment doesn't work.

I wouldn't take the 71 inches as a serious measurement. The guy was using a tailor tape and using his feet to hold it...nobody could see exactly how, which renders the measurement as useless.

Jorge looks like a weak 5'10 to me. Maybe like 5'9.75, seeing him next to guys like Till, Bisping, and Askren. I don't think the difference between him and Yoel is really that big. Lifts/height increasing shoes are fairly obvious to spot and are uncomfortable to wear, so I don't see why professional fighters who have to be barefeet half the time would care for them. It's probably just the angles/posture that's accounting for the discrepancies. Or one guys in shoes while the other isn't at weigh ins, which is pretty common.

Man its funny how you chose the worst pics possible, that Masvidal and Yoel pic you can see Jorge is leaning into Yoel and Yoel is kinda leaning over, plus pic is at an angle. Both not standing straight. Ive seen these two guys stand side by side barefoot a thousand times before, Jorge has like 2.5inch on Yoel barefoot minimum.

Like i previously said Yoel's a guy that wears shoes which give him a height bump, same with Lawler. Robbie was taller than Askren at face off's but at least 2inch shorter barefoot in octagon. Both Rory and Nick towered over Robbie who's 173-4cm at best (my opinion)

That pic of GSP with Conor is clearly at an angle, you can still tell GSP is taller if you look at shoulder + head height. GSP was taller than Khabib who has 2-3cm on Conor.

Daniel Cormier is a legit 177.5cm guy (5'9.8) and he's clearly taller than Khabib by at least 2-3cm, even in the video you can see he has an inch minimum on Khabib or even possibly more. Dont know why you think otherwise (pretty clear)

Gaethje looks 2 inches taller but Alvarez has an inch or so on him in footwear, Gaethje is listed at 5'11 and has always been a solid 5'10.5 to 5'11. With McGregor having atleast 1.5 inches on 5'7.5 Alvarez he is definitely a solid 5'9 fighter.

Peter Queally (Conor's teammate) is listed 176cm pretty much everywhere and he is much shorter than 5'11 listed Gunnar Nelson and a little shorter than 5'10 flat Amir Makwani so 176cm seems right. The Mac life even did a video with him and Conor and listed Peter as 5'9 on the video. So if you go back and look at pics with Peter and Conor, you'll see theres a significant difference in height. Anywhere up to 3-4cm thats why i went with 172cm for Conor. Plus people who've met Khabib swear that he's 174cm max (although 175cm is possible for him) and there was atleast 2-3cm difference between them. So you have to think about all these things. Plus just like Yoel Conor strike's me as a guy who also only wears shoes that give him a height bump.
